Monument to Negev Brigade - Be'er Sheva

Be'er Sheva (formerly Beersheba) is on the northern edge of the Negev Desert although vast areas of Israel manifest as deserts when in fact they are not defined as such. Clearly there are some fertile pockets and if anyone can grow food out of rock it would be the Israelis. This monument had something to do with the War of Independence.
